General Program Questions
How do I join the Macquarie Bank Rewards program?
As a Platinum or Gold cardholder you are automatically part of our Rewards program.
Can I choose my own reward?
Yes, you can choose your own reward either with a Visa Gift Card, which can be used anywhere Visa Prepaid is accepted. Or if you are a Macquarie Bank Platinum cardholder you can use MyCurrency and redeem your Reward points for whatever you want. Platinum cardholders can select their own rewards using a minimum of 150,000 points and the value of the reward needs to be at least $1,000. Please call our Rewards Centre on 1300 653 192.
How do I earn Reward points?
You automatically earn Reward points as soon as you start using your Card
- 1.25 Reward points per dollar spent* on your Visa Platinum Card
- 1 Reward point per dollar spent* on your Visa Gold Card
- 2 bonus points per dollar spent on travel through MyChoice Travel
- Bonus Points: at least one additional Reward point for purchases made at any of our bonus partners. Refer to the bonus partner listing section for a list of all participating bonus partners.
What can I redeem Reward points for?
Reward points can be redeemed for a variety of luxury gifts, entertainment, magazine subscriptions, gift cards, homewares, electronics and a wide range of travel options, including flights.
Do my Reward points expire?
No, your Reward points will not expire whilst your account remains open and operates in accordance with your account terms and conditions.
What is Points Plus Pay?
If you don't have enough points to redeem, you can now receive your reward sooner with Points Plus Pay. You can use as many or as few of your Reward points as you wish and then top up the balance with a payment from your Macquarie Bank Visa Platinum or Gold Card. You'll also earn 1.25 Reward points per dollar spent* on your Visa Platinum Card or 1 Reward Point per dollar spent* on your Visa Gold Card on the top up amount charged to your Card. Points Plus Pay is only available on merchandise and travel rewards (excluding vouchers) and can be used for redemptions made online or by contacting our Rewards Centre on 1300 653 192.
What is MyChoice Travel?
MyChoice Travel is an over-the-phone travel booking service for Macquarie Bank Rewards Platinum and Gold cardholders. At MyChoice Travel you can book almost any travel arrangement worldwide including flights, accommodation, car hire, tours and more using your Reward points to pay for all or part of your travel booking. Alternatively, you can charge your holiday to your Card and earn 2 Reward points per dollar spent*. If all you need is a flight, you can redeem online with a minimum of 5,000 Reward points required to book.

How do I redeem for travel?
You can redeem your Reward points for domestic flights on all major airlines and selected international flights through MyChoice Flights Online or for international flights, accommodation and car hire by calling MyChoice Travel on 1300 653 192 Monday to Friday, 9:00am and 5:00pm, local time.
How do I book flights online?
Log in to book domestic flights for all major airlines and selected international flights through MyChoice Flights Online. A minimum of 5,000 Reward points is required to book online.
Will I earn Reward points when I travel overseas?
Yes, you will earn 1.25 Reward points per dollar spent* on your Visa Platinum Card or 1 Reward point per dollar spent* on your Visa Gold Card while travelling overseas.
Can I earn bonus points?
Yes, with our extensive range of bonus partners you can earn more points faster. Earn at least 1 additional Reward point for every dollar you spend and select from an extensive range of bonus partner categories, including travel, accommodation, telecommunications, flowers and gifts.
Are all transactions eligible for Reward points?
While most transactions made on your Macquarie Bank Rewards Platinum or Gold Card will earn you Reward points, some transactions do not. You do not earn Reward points on cash advances, interest charges, gambling chip purchases, internet gambling transactions, credit fees and charges, disputed transactions, foreign exchange purchases, traveller's cheques and credit card payments.
What happens to my Reward points if I get a refund for a purchase on my Card?
If your account is credited with a refund from a merchant then the equivalent number of Reward points will be deducted from your account.
Can I transfer Reward points to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program?
Whilst our Rewards program does not enable you to transfer points to the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program, you are able to use your Reward points to redeem domestic and international flights with MyChoice Travel, including Qantas flights. If you're a member of a frequent flyer program then you'll also earn frequent flyer points on all flights booked through MyChoice Travel. You can also use your points to redeem for almost any travel arrangement worldwide including accommodation, car hire, tours and more. If all you need is a domestic flight, you can redeem online with a minimum of 5,000 Reward points.

How long does it take to receive rewards?
Rewards will normally be delivered to you within twenty-eight (28) days.
How long are Rewards vouchers and gift cards valid for?
The terms of validity for each reward voucher can vary. Generally they are valid for twelve (12) months from the date of issue.
Do I have to pay for freight on the delivery of my reward?
Certain rewards may require you to pay a delivery charge. There is no delivery charge for vouchers. To find out if there will be a freight charge associated with your redemption, contact our Rewards Centre on 1300 653 192.
How can I check which rewards are currently available?
You can find a full range of rewards online.
What happens if I have a query about my current Reward points balance?

How can I redeem Rewards?
You are able to redeem rewards anytime online. Alternatively, please call our Rewards Centre on 1300 653 192 Monday to Friday, 9:00am and 5:00pm, local time..
What happens to my Reward points if I close my Card account?
If you close your Macquarie Bank Visa Platinum Card account, your Macquarie Bank Rewards account will also be cancelled. Once you close your account your points will be forfeited and you will be unable to redeem.
My partner has an additional card on my account. Can we combine the Reward points we earn?
Yes, Reward points earned by additional cardholders are automatically combined with the Reward points earned by the primary cardholder. However, only the primary cardholder can redeem for a reward.
How do I change my Macquarie Bank Rewards password?
You can change your Macquarie Bank Rewards password on the Change Password page. To do this you must first log in to your online account using your registered email address and current password. You will find the Change Password page in the My Account section.

General Website Questions
Why doesn't the website recognise my email address?
If you are a new Macquarie Bank Visa Platinum or Gold cardholder, you are required to activate your online account before you can sign in to the Macquarie Bank Rewards website. To activate your account, you will need to provide:
the Visa Card number of the Primary cardholder
the birth date of the Primary cardholder
your preferred email address that will be registered to your Macquarie Bank Rewards account
a password that will be used each time you log in to the Macquarie Bank Rewards website
Once you have activated your online account, you will be able to log in to the Macquarie Bank Rewards website using your email address and password.
What do I do if the activation form doesn't recognise my Macquarie Bank Rewards Visa Card number?
There are two possible reasons for why the Macquarie Bank Rewards website doesn't recognise your Visa Card number:
1. You are trying to activate the account of a Secondary cardholder. Only Primary cardholders can activate their online account. Secondary cardholders are unable to activate an online Macquarie Bank Rewards account.
2. If you have just received your Visa Card, your details may not be updated on the Macquarie Bank Rewards website. Your details will be updated on the website the next business day.

What do I do if I have forgotten my Macquarie Bank Rewards password?
If you have forgotten your Macquarie Bank Rewards password, you can generate a temporary password by providing the Visa Card number, birth date and registered email address of the Primary cardholder. Your temporary password will be sent to the email address registered to your Macquarie Bank Rewards account and you will then have 24 hours in which to log in to your online account before the temporary password expires.
What if I dont have access to my email address and I need to sign in to the Macquarie Bank Rewards website?
You can also obtain a temporary password for the Macquarie Bank Rewards website by calling the Macquarie Bank Rewards Centre on 1300 653 192.
If I change the email address I have registered with Macquarie Bank, will this automatically update my email address on the Macquarie Bank Rewards website?
No. If you change your email address with Macquarie Bank, you will need to change your email address on the Macquarie Bank Rewards website also.
How do I change my Macquarie Bank Rewards password?
You can change your Macquarie Bank Rewards password on the Change Password page. To do this you must first log in to your online account using your registered email address and current password. You will find the Change Password page in the My Account section.
How do I unsubscribe from Macquarie Bank Rewards email communications?
If you do not wish to receive email communications from Macquarie Bank Rewards, you can update your email preferences on the Edit Details page. To do this you must first log in to your online account using your registered email address and password.
