Program Terms and Conditions
1. When do these Terms and Conditions apply to me?
You are treated as having agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions when you or an Additional Cardholder first use or activate your new Card or authorise a transaction on your Account. You agree that these Terms and Conditions apply to any points you or any additional Cardholder earns.
The use of your Card is also subject to separate conditions of use which were provided with your Card.
2. How does the Rewards Program work?
You are awarded points whenever you use your Card or Account to purchase goods or services. You may then use the points to select an available reward.
We do not manufacture or supply rewards and make no commitments regarding the supply of particular rewards. However, we will use due care and skill to:
process and maintain your rewards membership
manage relationships with redemption partners and bonus partners, and
procure the supply of rewards to you.
3. How do I earn points?
You earn points for each Australian dollar amount of purchases made on your Account as follows:
Platinum – 1.25 points per dollar, and
Gold – 1 point per dollar.
You may also receive additional bonus points in connection with Special Promotions offered from time to time.
We may change the way you earn points from time to time. We will try to give you adequate notice of any change. Bonus partners, redemption partners and special offers may also change from time to time and we will try to give you adequate notice of any material changes and you can refer to our website for current details at any time.
Points are not earned in respect of the following amounts that may be charged to your Account:
GST and government charges
interest and other bank fees and charges (including any GST payable on any of these)
Cash Advances
Special Promotions such as balance transfers, and
Transactions made in operating a business.
If a Transaction is reversed, we will deduct the points earned on that Transaction.
4. How long do I have to use my points?
Your points will not expire as long as your Account is open and operates in accordance with your Credit Card - Conditions of Use booklet.
If you close your Account or die, your participation in the Rewards Program is automatically cancelled and all reward points not redeemed are forfeited unless redeemed within any time period specified by us.
Your points may not be transferred to another person for any reason.
We may discontinue the Rewards Program at any time at our discretion. We will notify you as soon as practicable of the termination and you will have 30 days from the date of termination to redeem your reward points.
5. What are the rewards available to me?
Rewards are subject to availability but we will inform you via our website regarding the rewards that may be available at any time and any specific conditions on which rewards are available.
All gift cards, vouchers and certificates are subject to the standard terms and conditions and expiry dates of the participating redemption partner.
We reserve the right to vary the Rewards Program Terms and Conditions from time to time and will give 30 days written notice of any material changes.
6. How do I redeem a reward?
Only you may claim a reward, if you have sufficient points. Your right to redeem rewards may not be transferred to another person, including an additional Cardholder.
You may redeem selected rewards by using Points Plus Pay. To redeem a reward by using Points Plus Pay you will need to accumulate the required number of points and pay the required top up amount by using your Card.
If you redeem a reward, you cannot change or cancel that redemption nor can you exchange or return a reward to obtain a re-credit of the relevant points.
Certain rewards may require you to pay a delivery charge. To find out if there will be a delivery charge associated with your redemption click here or contact the Macquarie Bank Rewards Centre on 1300 653 192.
Normally allow up to 28 days for processing and delivery of all rewards redemptions. However, based on recent performance 95% of vouchers are sent within 15 days. We may, at any time, and without notice, withdraw or substitute any reward for another reward or alter the number of reward points required to claim a reward.
Disputes about missing reward points will not be accepted more than 3 months after the date of the relevant Transaction.
7. Who is responsible for the rewards?
Except as required by law, neither we nor our agents are liable for the availability, quality or fitness for purpose of any rewards or goods or services redeemed using your points. Therefore, if you have any complaints about rewards or goods or services you should discuss them directly with the supplier.
Neither we nor our agents are responsible if you cannot redeem a reward for reasons beyond our or any of our agents' control or the failure of a bonus partner or redemption partner to honour its obligations under the Rewards Program for any reason.
8. How do I keep track of my points and reward entitlements?
You can review your Rewards Program statement at macquariecards.com, or you can contact the Macquarie Bank Rewards Centre to find out your current reward points balance. Alternatively, your reward points balance will be printed on your monthly Card statement.
Points can be used to redeem rewards as soon as they have been processed and have been added to your reward points record.
We may adjust your total points (backdating the adjustment if necessary) if points have been incorrectly credited or debited for any reason. We will advise you of any adjustment in your next statement.

You can contact us by calling the Macquarie Bank Rewards Centre on 1300 653 192. We write to you at your postal address – please inform Macquarie Card Services if you change your address, as all correspondence will be sent to this address.
10. Is there a limit to the amount of reward points that I can earn?
We may, at our absolute discretion, choose to limit the maximum number of reward points that may be awarded in any one year commencing on the anniversary of Account opening, but will not limit the number of points to less than the points earned from the following spend:
(i) Gold Account: $130,000;
(ii) Platinum Account: $200,000.
You can find out the current limit by viewing the Terms.
11. Additional reward opportunities for Platinum accountholders
Platinum Cardholders are also entitled to participate in MyCurrency rewards, subject to the qualifications set out in these Terms and Conditions. To be eligible a Cardholder must have a minimum of 150,000 reward points available in their rewards account and the value of the item requested needs to be a minimum of $1,000. We will use our best endeavours to attempt to source any item reasonably requested as part of MyCurrency rewards.
When using MyCurrency rewards, you will need to provide to us details of your redemption request. If, in our sole discretion, we are able to fulfil your request we will tell you the supplier, the estimated delivery time and the cost (in reward points or payment and reward points combined by using Points Plus Pay).
We may, in our absolute discretion, not source any request for a reward which is not consistent with our corporate standards or cannot be fulfilled due to unavailability or is deemed not appropriate as a reward.
12. When we will not award points or fulfil reward claims
If you are in breach of your Credit Card - Conditions of Use booklet or your Account is suspended or cancelled your available reward points balance will show as 0. Subject to these Terms and Conditions, you will continue to accrue points on your account during this period.
We reserve the right to suspend or exclude you from participation or continuing to participate in the Rewards Program if:
(i) you are in breach of your Credit Card - Conditions of Use booklet or these rewards program Terms and Conditions including, but not limited to, earning reward points by claiming business purchases on the Account; or
(ii) your Account is suspended, cancelled or terminated.
We will only take action under this clause if you have been provided with a notice outlining the alleged default (either of your Credit Card - Conditions of Use or these Rewards Program Terms and Conditions) and that default has not been rectified within 14 days of the date of the notice period.
13. Points themselves do not have monetary value
Points do not have any monetary value. Points and rewards may not be transferred, sold, bequeathed or inherited. Points can only be redeemed for rewards and are not convertible into cash. Points are only used to record your entitlement to redeem a reward.

15. Changing rewards or other offers
